Gustine, CA A 26-year-old woman has been arrested with suspicion of aggravated assault and is facing child endangerment charges. Maria Galicia took her 11-month-old daughter to Memorial Hospital located in Los Banos claiming she had been pulling on her ear, which usually indicates an ear infection. Not too big of a deal, right? What she hadn’t planned on was going to jail that day, and that’s what happened.
After examining the 11-month-old child, medical staff at Memorial Hospital decided it would be best to send her to a Children’s Hospital. Sounds like more than an ear infection to me. I think it would’ve been best to have a different mother. Upon further examination of the little girl, they discovered she had suffered from a fractured leg, fractured skull, and not only a broken arm, but a burn on her arm, as well, from a flatiron. I highly doubt an 11-month-old was straightening her hair and had an accident. I vote for Maria for the Mother of the Year award! Just kidding.
Galicia was arrested after Detectives Dwayne Pavelski and Mike Ruiz interviewed her. She was taken in on the suspicion of child endangerment likely to cause bodily harm or death and later posted bail. She then was arrested the very next day on suspicion of aggravated assault and is being held on a $500,000 bail.
I’m wondering how Galicia allegedly got away with all of this for so long. According to authorities, the injuries to the child were older and healing, which means that they all happened at different times. I wonder how she noticed her daughter tugging at her ear, but failed to notice the broken leg, broken arm, and burn mark, and most importantly, her fractured skull! If you ask me, she’s either definitely guilty of causing harm to her own flesh and blood, or she’s just that ignorant. I’m leaning more towards both.

I’m wondering if this idiot has family that was around during all this abuse, or friends/neighbors… Surely someone noticed swelling on this child, constant crying, fevers, etc. I always find it hard to believe abuse goes unnoticed.
I’m glad they reset her bail at a half a mil. Keep the bitch until she’s sentenced.

Hey Hey! Very nice first piece, and welcome to the family.
Would be curious about any male “companionship” she might have had over the previous mounts, and if he were left alone with the child. I know it happens, but I can never wrap my mind around a mother breaking her own child.

Well, even if there was a male companion, what mother wouldn’t notice broken bones on their child? This must be one tough little girl if she didn’t even cry! That just shows me that this stupid excuse for a mother is guilty.

Good job Athena. A lot of times it’s the boyfriend who abuses ” the other mans child” by his girlfriend. That being said ,this instance if it was caused by him,she should get just as long as he. No mom should ever let the boyfriend babysit or care for a child. If she’s guilty ,hopefully there will be the women in her cell block that ll give her a ‘blanket party’
