Fort Lauderdale, Florida I envy the crime authors who are granted access to criminals for interviews. I don’t know, perhaps if I actually tried to, I could figure a way to get some of my questions answered. But as twisted as I am, I’m not quite sure how I’d feel about some most all these asses knowing who I am. I’d be willing to weigh the pros and cons if I were guaranteed answers though. I am selective. Why these fuckers find small children attractive enough to rape them isn’t my bag. That shit makes me so sick – I don’t want any answers. Hell, I can’t even begin the attempt of wrapping my mind around that. I am fascinated with the bizarre and the insanely stupid crimes/criminals…like our new subject Jose Alfaro. When is a freezer ever a good idea for disposing of a dead body?
Back in 2007, Jose hired his buddy Stephen Febonio to do some drywall work on the greenhouse he was building. $10,000 dollars worth to be exact. Not a bad gig, right?
Unfortunately, Febonio didn’t receive his payment and threatened to go to the police. Kind of silly I know. Police don’t really like to get involved in small claims cases such as that. But when it involves the fact the greenhouse was full of pot – that tends to pique the interest of the authorities and equally piss off the botanical proprietor.
Febonio must have sensed his buddy’s aggravation. Leaving a note for his father, he left his Jose’s name as a tip if he were to disappear for a couple of days. Well – it was actually 2 years before missing Stephan Fabonio was found…all 200 pounds of him…stuffed in a 4×4 freezer all twisted and contorted and no doubt looking a bit differently than he did before he went missing.
Allegedly, Jose Alfaro once told friends that freezer was full of deer meat. Didn’t anyone open the fucker? What’d he do? Attach a rack of antlers to Stephen’s head and think ice hanging off the dude would be a sufficient disguise? Maybe he got a bit paranoid and that’s why he decided to move and bury the freezer in some yard. Me? I think it’d be much easier cutting the body up into meal sized portions like many of his kind do and dispersing the meals to soup kitchens and such. I know, that’s just wrong. You get my point though don’t you? Cutting the body up and getting rid of it in various places is a lot better than shoving the whole rotting corpse into a freezer where there’s no difficulty in determining that it’s human. And burying the freezer? Digging isn’t exactly easy. Perhaps it just shows Jose Alfaro is not lazy…just stupid.
When authorities found Stephen’s body melded to that freezer in March, they decided to amp their search for Jose Alfaro. Perhaps, with a body, they decided to take Stephen’s father’s concerns seriously. Alfaro had been jailed in Upstate New York until August and US Marshals finally caught up with him at his momma’s place December 4th.
Jose Alfaro has been charged with First-Degree murder with a fire arm. I’m thinking they need to add additional time for sheer lack of imagination. Anyone can stuff a dead dude in a freezer and bury it.

First of all Stacy – this is a shame site. Its whole reason for being is to spotlight defective wastes of drunken sperm like the above mentioned and drag his name though the septic system. A waste of effort, I know, as most of these prophylactic failures are accustomed to the smell, but it makes us feel better. There is no presumption of innocence here – that is for a court of law. Be cognizant of the applicable standards before you display your “learnin'”.
Secondly: The fact that the victim was acquitted means that in the eyes of the law he was not guilty of the charges against him. News sources will not bring up charges for which an individual has been cleared.
Thirdly: I am sure the perps family and friends knew what a piece of shit this guy was long before we said anything about it. Those who claim differently are usually in “LOOOOVE” and have the IQ of your basic rodent, are members of the clan and lack the self-awareness to honestly see their brood is a fuck-up, or are as far gone down the criminal path as the defendant and perhaps culpable as well.

Two counts of felony assault and battery is quite a bit different than murder. Beat the bloody fuck out of someone vs. beat the life out of them. One walks away breathing – one doesn’t.

But it seems a little coincidental that some majic note pops up that also happened to be found by a grieving retired police detective father that would have expert knowledge in falsifying evidence. And if you do believe everything that you read on the internet, (or in the newspaper for that matter), it was clearly written that they may not even have enough evidence to hold this guy! And for you info…aquitted doesn’t mean “not guilty”, it means the evidence did not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant commited the crime they are accused of! Doesn’t mean they didn’t do it, just means that it’s possible that their defense story was plausable.

It’s about the same as capitalizing a word in the middle of a sentence that isn’t a pro-noun. Why so defensive? Is it because you’re a stay at home mom, that sits around spitting out babies, with no real life other than living vicariously through other people’s misfortunes that you know nothing about? There are people that have been imprisoned for up to 18 years for murder, only to be found innocent after their lives have been torn apart beyond repair. That is – I would be impressed if you had presented one original thought in your preceding two rants. Everything, and I mean everything, you have so eloquently declaimed has been said a thousand times before by the those attempting to defend these sociopaths.
I am truly sorry that you have lost your faith in justice. I am aware that there are innocents found guilty of crimes they did not commit. But those stories are rare, so as to be almost statistically insignificant.
I question your own status. From your incisive and erudite repartee above, are you out there actually running with the criminal element; the “counter culture” as it were? Is that where you gain the standing to deride those who are “living vicariously?” Interest in true crime is a growing genre in the American popular culture. It has been steadily growing since exploding on the scene with John Walsh’s “Americas Most Wanted”. I would say that the comments of the esteemed author of this story are imminently more legitimate than the pseudo-educated, community college drivel you spill forth.

Yes, I agree, he did change a lot over the past couple of years. He was in a bad way and may have done things out of desperation, however, I will never say I think he killed anyone. Not to be an asshole, but if any one of you that were ever a friend of Jose’s, I’m shocked at the loyalty any of you have for him. Regardless of what you know or think you know, it is no one’s business to make remarks about what he “bragged” about doing, it’s straight up foul. Jose was a very loyal person and would have NEVER turned his back on anyone he cared about, nor would he ever “rat” someone out simply because he so called, “knew the deal”. I will ALWAYS stick by his side no matter what happens to him regardless of our loss of communication over the past 2 years. Ya…Jose Alfaro “Lived well”. Do you know why?? Because everything he owned, he bought under someone elses credit!! The white Infiniti G35 he drove around…he bought it under”Julian Kayn” name. That was his buddy from NY that Jose stole his identity. Jose’s other aliases are “Julian Kayne” and Phillip Durrante”. Jose worked in Florida at auto body shops…but never lasted for more than a month here and there. He was lazy and preferred to break into homes and steal their TV’s and laptops…and resell them!
Jose never “lived well”. He lived at Kira’s apartment with his dog. He has no “loyalty”. He would rob one friend just to pay back another. He screwed everyone. When you hang out with the guy…he seems normal and everything. But bottom line is hes a murderer and bragged about it to atleast 7 people that i know of.

Has it occurred to anyone that maybe Febonio was murdered because he was working as an informant for the DEA, and somebody found out about it? The DEA was watching the growhouse in Parkland at least two months before Steve disappeared.
If it’s true that he left a note for his father implicating Alfaro and the parkland growhouse , why did it take so long to arrest Alfaro? I think there’s a lot more going on here than anybody is talking about. Even Alfaro may have become an informant at some point, which would explain why he remained free for as long as he did.

If he allegedly killed Stephen and moved the freezer out of the house why didn’t DEA agents, that had the house under surveillance, see him moving it? They were either sleeping or the whole case is bullshit! Some detectives don’t like it when they can’t figure out the puzzle. I guess you gotta make shit up to get your promotion!

The point of the story is that most of what I’ve seen printed as news on this site is incorrect information obtained from law enforcement officers that couldn’t tell their asshole from the asshole mugging the old lady standing next to them! Yet they seem to be able to take any info off the street from a confidential informant (i.e.: Anonymous), use it to investigate or accuse someone without evidence, and all this results in multiple people’s lives not only being splattered all over the news but having their reputations ruined even before they are proven guilty!
If the media wants to use the “People have a right to know!” scape goat to get ratings, they should at least have to wait to post any info until it’s been proven beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law and the defendant has been found guilty.
But I guess old news doesn’t have the same effect as fairy tale news! I’m quite sure that people who are found innocent would not get near as much media coverage as those who are found guilty. That speaks volumes about society’s character as a whole. It’s ok to ruin someone’s life without proof; it’s just not profitable to clear their name once you’ve ruined it.

Thinkgoat…so you understand how it works…Federal Marshalls are only brought in when an alleged fugitive has crossed state lines. Any authorization to do so comes specifically from obtaining a grand jury indictment. A grand jury indictment is obtained by a sworn affidavit by a police officer that a crime has been committed (based on his word!). I only know two police officers that I know for a fact aren’t dirty, and I know quite a few!

On top of that…you can’t extradite an alleged fugitive from one state to another without a governor’s warrant. A governor’s warrant does not need to be backed by the same evidence that would be admissible in court. Hearsay will do just fine! Kinda hard for me to be an accomplice to a murder that never happened, at least not by anyone that I know. And if anyone is gonna get charged with obstruction of justice it’ll probably be the idiots that are on here naming names. But I guess that’s what they do best! 2. Actually, he no longer has a public defender if you were paying attention to the dis-organized case motions where it lists the judge…it also shows the name of his 2 new lawyers and they happen to be the best in FL!
3. They always ask for the death penalty in a first degree murder case. It’s the only way they can justify the money they have already spent and the money needed to continue with the process in order to save face on a case where they have no evidence. If you swing at everything you’re bound to hit something! In theory anyway.

(1)(a) The unlawful killing of a human being:
1. When perpetrated from a premeditated design to effect the death of the person killed or any human being;
is murder in the first degree and constitutes a capital felony, punishable as provided in s. 775.082.

When it comes to seeking the death penalty, Florida statute requires that, on top of it being a first-degree murder case, certain aggravating circumstances must exist.
There’s about a dozen aggravating circumstances that you can consider above and beyond the fact it’s a first-degree murder case, such as heinous, atrocious and cruel, in other words, unnecessary suffering like you might have in this case.
Other aggravating circumstances include the capital felony being committed while the defendant was in the commission of another crime, like drug trafficking, or the crime being a homicide that was committed in a “cold, calculated and premeditated manner,” according to state statutes.
By the way, lethal injection became the primary method. Inmates, however, may still choose electrocution.
Now heres whats “amazing” to me:
On January 22, 2010 the Judge grants a motion to force Jose Alfaro to submit DNA samples. On February 5, 2010 Jose Alfaro objects to the order to submit a DNA sample. His motion in denied.
Now, why would an innocent man (supposedly Jose) object to submitting a DNA sample?? If he is innocent then he wouldnt mind providing a DNA sample, clearing his name, and walking right out jail in no time.
Now, thats AMAZING!

Actually DNA….
1. Michael Cohen is one of his two lawyers, the other one is named Eileen but she isn’t listed on the clerk site. I wasn’t talking about the prosecutor.
2. The reason he wouldn’t submitt to the DNA sample is because there is no forensic evidence to compare it to so it will not exhonerate him from the charge. No citizen should have to give any state a sample of their DNA just to have it on file with the state. I would consider that a violation of one’s human rights. So knowing they have nothing to compare it to, I wouldn’t give them mine either.

State prosecutor Daniel Galo left the state attorney’s office in January, Charbonneau took over his cases. That’s a bit of a blow for the prosecutors, I think, as she has a lot less experience.

I don’t know what to say but when I figured out that my uncle comités a murder, I was genuinely surprised. I am nothing like him and I don’t know wether to support him because he is family or be mad but I will say that I am disappointed. I can’t find the full story and to us, he claims he is innocent. I wish I could understand what would drive him to do that. I know it was cause of the greenhouse but I am in the middle. Do not get mad at me in the comments or think I am on his side. I am just confused.
