Edward Larry Berndt and Edwin Christian Berndt “No Billed” for Melting Momma

Houston, Texas  I’ve bitched and moaned about the judicial system allowing people to skate by on insanity pleas. I’ve always regarding “insanity” as a moot point for it can be argued that anyone committing some of the more heinous crimes are indeed, “insane”. Generally, I think it’s an easy out for some of these fuckers, those who know full-well what the hell they’ve done, know the consequences, and can act well enough to cop an easy deal spending time in a mental facility.

I wrote about one guy who’d murdered an old lady, set her on fire, and was found “insane”. He was further rewarded by earning day trips out with the other “containable” wards and one particular trip was to the County Fair where he was “insane” enough to slip away from the employees and go on the lamb for several days. That shit just pisses me the hell off. It happens time and time again, they spend their “time” in a play home and then some crackpot shrink petitions the courts saying they’re now cured of what ailed them and they’re out with no probation only to become a murderous, raping, fuckwad again.

And then there’s these two brothers. Twins. Their story has taught me there’s an exception…because I’m here to say you only have to look at these twins to realize they’re a little left of center and just knowing they stepped over their dead rotting mother for three months pretty much seals the deal. Steven Frederick Molin Encounters a Speed Bump

By ThinkGoat

Worcester County, Pennsylvania I’ve some friends who’re wonderful with situational fabrication. Upon listening to them, I know they’re completely full of shit but the tale is so awesome I find myself pretending it occurred right along with them. Then I have friends (they’re in the minority) who lack this talent. When they spin their story, it’s painfully obvious they’re trying to get me to believe their crap. And because I’m not one to accept being force-fed bullshit, I enjoy the little cat and mouse game. I sit and listen until I’ve allowed them to arm me with enough inconsistencies that I start pelting them with questions to hear how they dig themselves out. It always ends up the same way:  a change of subject. Are we really so apt to believe everything that comes out of someone’s mouth or have we become so detached that we just don’t really listen to ourselves or anyone else now? Because surely, if some people did listen to what spilled out of the gaping hole in their face, they’d take a vow of silence. This little “pull up” comes a bit late for Steven Molin who once again has proven it’s best to be thought an idiot than to open the mouth and remove all doubt. (more…)

Darrel White’s ‘In Sickness and In Health Till Death Do Us Part’

By ThinkGoat

Cincinnati, Ohio Maggots. One of my most favorite subjects, both medically and the gross out factor…and sometimes the intermingling of the two. Back in the 1920′s, maggot therapy was first used as debridement and as much as I understand the usefulness of these white nasty wiggling baby flies, I’m not completely sure, even with facing losing a foot or something, I’d readily allow my doctor to fix me up a maggot dressing. Don’t get me wrong, I can look at maggots crawling on people all day long with complete amusement fascination, but the thought of those things hooking and devouring my flesh or infection is not worth entertaining. But they work. Well, the right kind work. They have to be of the “blow fly” (not to be confused with the botfly, another incredibly fascinating critter), and well, I imagine if you’re having a little maggot therapy done, you’d really rather it be sterile and not so much “spontaneous”. The good maggots devour the dead tissues and the bad maggots devour everything else. The good maggots will leave their host once the necrotic tissue is gone, the bad maggots have no sense of proportion, they munch on everything without stopping. “Can you feel them?” is most likely one of the common questions (answer is fuck yes) with a quick follow-up of “does it hurt?” (answer is ‘sometimes’) I’ve had the pleasure of being able to ask “controlled” questions of patients who’ve had the “spontaneous” maggot infestation. “Controlled” meaning: I was on duty and acting on a professional basis, not able to ask the questions that I would truly love to know. And that’s why I chose the story of Jorene White to bring me out of this 20-day hiatus… (more…)

Jean Stevens Really Digs Her Husband and Twin Sister

By ThinkGoat

Wyalusing, Pennsylvania Salad Fingers may be a cartoon (which, by the way, it’s an awesome one at that) but I never thought I’d ever run across a prime example of life imitating art – or vice versa. At least not to this degree. And I never in a million years thought I’d be fortunate enough to “happen” upon a story such as this. Although I’ve sat on this “case” for a few days, in idle times I’ve thought about little else. In the original source, the journalist was correct when describing the past decade of Jean’s life’s decisions “a bit sad, and in [their] own peculiar way, sweet.” What they left out was “disturbing”, “twisted”, and plain “fucked-up”. But there’s something endearing about this lady that, if only for a split-second, makes you feel pretty badly for her. Then the cold-hard question of “what the hell?” comes crashing the party and well, Jean has some major issues. (more…)

Peter James Wilson Solves Discipline Problem with Knife

By ThinkGoat

Lake Cushman, Washington I know better than to “read more” on a child abuse story. I really do. As anyone who’s read me for a long time knows, I hate these stories but believe in exposing the monsters who prey upon them. I’m just not the person for the writing job. They affect me deeply and once I get sucked in, I become so consumed with what the hell drives adults to do these things that I end up writing them. And I would have looked over this story with hope someone else would pick it up had it not been for the picture of this darling little girl and the words, “slashed throat”. And after reading about a dozen police accounts, mother’s statement, and probable cause report, I was so disgusted and sucked in that I had to tell little 5-year-old Clare Louise Shelwell’s story. Kimberly and Jacob Taschler Forced Their 11-Mo-Old into Starvation

By ThinkGoat

Palmerton, Pennsylvania I’m beginning to think Pennsylvania is going to give Florida a run for the money when it comes to crimes that should be spotlighted. Although people flock to the Florida coastline and adopt a party mentality for a long weekend or more, the silly folks in Pennsylvania seem to be adopting that same balls-out lifestyle on a fairly consistent basis. And damn, the party games they think of these days are just astounding. I mean, when I was younger – these games were dull compared to the excitement and entertainment that’s derived now. No, we just mainly played quarters, “Bob”, or sat and laughed our asses off for absolutely no reason whatsoever for hours on end. Sure there was the occasional “watching a drunk buddy peel a paint-chip off the wall to make a tripping person snap out of having a bad journey” and the occasional “watching 3 pals fall down a narrow flight of stairs after you just killed the only light by throwing Christmas ornaments at the bulb so they too could witness the pretty glass pieces flutter to the ground” but those good times pale in comparison to the entertainment Kimberly and Jacob Taschler enjoy…smoking pot while their baby wastes away. This Poor Chinese Man Woke Up Feeling Very Very Eel

By ThinkGoat

China Drunken shenanigans, there’s nothing funnier or if you’re the unfortunate one who’s passed out around a bunch of drunken buddies, nothing more embarrassing. I will admit, at my age I no longer giggle my ass off at YouTube videos that show our future leaders of this fine country taking permanent magic markers and drawling all over their passed-out buddy’s face. I have seen a few clever ones though – a group of guys loading their pal upon a blow-up raft and setting sail toward a fountain in the middle of a condo community pond. Even with the risk of that poor kid sucking in a mouthful of water. (his buddies were at the ready). But Americans lack the truly clever pranks like those played out in China. Those fuckers don’t waste time doing silly stuff. Nope. They resort to sending live shit up the ass of their friends. (more…)

These Three Bitches Would Be Lucky To Burn In Hell

By ThinkGoat

Ensley, Florida There’s no derision that can be shared with this story. I may poke fun at some of the crimes because some just don’t seem “real”. I mean, who seriously can imagine or picture someone cutting up another person? I know those things happen because I actually seek those stories out for some sick reason. I can separate myself from it all because, as I said, it’s just so fucked up it makes it easy to tackle. But this story: this entails a sick and evil mind that would savagely torture someone to a certain and painful death. Now, compound that evilness a couple more times and it makes it mind-boggling that 3 people could act this maliciously, in a premeditated barbaric manner, with a goal of turning another human being from a 19-year-old mother into a scared, bloody, and flaming heap of flesh screaming for her life. Jason Padgett’s “How To Play Your Video Games Uninterrupted” Guide – Kill The Kid First

By ThinkGoat

Palm Bay, Florida Maybe someone out here can answer this question for me. Who the fuck watches someone punch a two-year-old in the face over the course of three weeks and doesn’t kill the fucker who’s doing it? Okay, another question: What kind of people just ignore this and don’t say anything to the mother of the child? One more question: How doesn’t a mother notice this shit? Come on girls, I don’t care if I’m screwed so well I pass out from euphoria, if any low-life dares to touch my child in an aggressive manner, I’m just fine with celibacy. I’m sick to death of reading stories where the mothers choose a piece of ass over the welfare of their child and the child ends up beaten to a bloody pulp like the child in Oklahoma we just featured…or dead like this little boy. And a little suggestion to the punk-asses who are doing these things: come up with better excuses. Falling, dropping, etc. is getting pretty old. (more…)

Charges Filed: Ryan Boyd Faces Reckless Homicide in Ryan Jones Death

By ThinkGoat

Rushville, Illinois Shhhh. I want everyone to be real quiet for just a moment………do you hear it? It might be a little difficult at first but if you listen closely you can hear it building steam. It’s called karma and it’s got its aim right up Ryan Boyd’s ass. And since Boyd claims he’s a “redneck” per his myspace page, it’s only appropriate that I include the only country song lyrics I’m familiar with:  “I hear the train a comin’.   It’s rollin’ ’round the bend. I’m tired of leaning over while Bubba puts it in.” I know, I suck at remembering the exact words. (more…)

Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984)

null

By Deathstalker

To preface this review, I aim in addition to relate it’s history to the casual viewer and put in context the climate to which this film was received. After the success of John Carpenter’s “Halloween” followed by Sean S. Cunningham’s “Friday the 13th”, there was a huge increase in holiday based slasher films based on their profitability. In the 1980′s, this trend in horror gave rise to one of the most infamous horror films of all time: “Silent Night, Deadly Night”. (more…)

The Unexplained Death of Ryan Jones

Ryan Jones

By Thinkgoat

Rushville, Illinois By the look of things, the Rushville Police Department is wanting to give the Ashland Police Department a run for their money. Now before you start imagining these cops in cute little outfits challenging each other to a charity basketball playoff let me derail that. The competition is a little more grave – both figuratively and literally. Ashland and Rushville have entered into the abysmal challenge of making Central Illinois choose which is more fucked up in handling the deaths of young men. Ashland had an early start with the murder of Steven Watkins, shot in the back of the head while he went to pick up his daughter a year ago. The dead body wasn’t reported by the Chief of Police and the crime scene was contaminated by allowing people in and out of the house. Rushville’s Ryan Jones was reportedly killed as he drove home alone and the truck he was in left the roadway. But due to the wonderful world of modern communications and the inability to think their way out of a paper bag, the Rushville and Schuyler County Police Departments were unable to keep their lies from surfacing.
