S&Man (pronounced Sandman) is a psuedo-documentary following the exploits of writer-director J.T. Petty as he delves into the underground horror scene. Petty starts off the film narrating the story of a local urban legend of a video voyuer in his hometown who was unable to be prosecuted due the victims not wanting to press charges because the videos of them would have to be screened in court. Petty describes his admiration for the voyuer being able to get away with this and wanted to make a documentary about him. This admission, while most likely untrue, sets the tone for the film. Not only that, it indicates the viewer as an accessory for watching this. However, Petty put the cart before the horse and got the funding before his intended subject. The peeper turned down Petty’s attempts to film him, so Petty decides to switch gears and focus on another dark territory: fake snuff movies. (more…)
Even a speck of common sense tells us that the shortest way to get from one point to another always takes the path of a straight line. Following a meandering road that zigs left and zags right is surely less efficient than taking a direct route. We hold these truths to be self-evident.
Often, upon tackling a story, I’ll familiarize myself with the geographical location of the crime scene and get a flavor of the demographics that comprise the area of interest. It generally serves no purpose other than pacifying certain curiosities within myself and if, for some reason they prove to be interesting enough, I’ll include a portion of my findings as a prelude to the tale.
I found nothing particularly noteworthy in Paris, Illinois; the demographics seemed to reflect a quintessential little town in the Midwest with a population a little over 8,500. That was before I stumbled upon the description of Vance Park, “a hushed quiet place that’s perfect for meditation”. Vance Park is a sunken garden that hosts a serpentine wall and at the far end of this little oasis, a lion’s head fountain. I have to wonder if this tiny community realizes the stark symbolism between Vance Park’s settings and the real life events that culminated in murder, the rigidly straight wall of justice made serpentine by the pre-existing factors that led a once quiet and reserved young man;s actions to emulate a lion’s roar.
Let’s meet the accused, 16-year-old Terry Payton. (more…)
New Yorker Levi Aron Arrested After Missing Boy, Leiby Kletzky, is Found Dismembered and Frozen in Aron’s Refrigerator
Brooklyn, New York-The search for 8-year-old Leiby Kletzky was finally brought to an end early this morning. Police tracked down a man that they saw talking to him in a grainy surveillance tape just before he disappeared. That man turned out to be Levi Aron and when they asked him where the child was he nodded toward his kitchen. There the investigators discovered parts of the boy’s body in his refrigerator, bloody knives, a bloody cutting board, and lots of blood but that wasn’t the end of the story. (more…)
Bangor, Maine I know there are some extremely jealous married women out there, especially when it comes to any “ex” their husband may have. At one time, prior to being married, Mr. Goat called me by his ex’s name. I stopped in my tracks, turned around, and gave him one of those “What the…” looks and as the realization of what had happened settled into that sometimes confusing head of his, he explained how it should be taken as a compliment. Fourteen years later, I’m still processing that statement. My point is: I didn’t beat him to a bloody pulp over the mention of her name, I didn’t maim him after running into her at some store. No. I save those feelings of rage for leaving cabinet doors open, toilet seat lids up, and grape jelly smeared across the counter-top - those daily reminders that some men are just brain damaged. Not once has jealousy sent me into a tailspin to where I’d take a plastic ball bat and ram it through his ballsack to his guts.
The same cannot be said for Roxanne Jeskey, the 48-year-old crazy bitch who’s now accused of the torture and death of her husband because of a phone call between he and his ex. (more…)
Lakewood, Washington Cars are stolen every day. Some are found and returned, some are sent to chop shops for parts, and some are wrecked by their drunken/high/stupid thieves. Alfred Keith Roberts chose the wrong car to steal. Roberts, better known as “Cool-Aid”, allegedly stole Randy Harbin’s car earlier this year, with Harbin’s drugs still inside. Obviously, Harbin couldn’t just report the theft to the police because of the drugs, so he found his own way to handle the situation. Harbin’s solution involved duct tape, a knife, and a video camera. He and his accomplices would have been wiser to leave out the camera. (more…)

In a very sad case out of Durham, North Carolina the body of 5-year-old Jadon Higganbothan and a woman, Antoinetta McKoy, 28, have been found in a backyard partially buried. 7 people of a cult called, “The Black Hebrew Israelites,” have been charged in their murders including the alleged leader, Pete Lucas Moses, Jr., 27. Bowling Green, KY Being pregnant is one of the greatest joys a woman can experience, aside from the nausea, weight gain, hormonal imbalance, bloating, and, well, you get the picture. The anticipation of meeting your little one for the first time is almost too much to handle. Some expectant mothers spend months getting everything just perfect and rearranging everything ten times before they can finally decide on how the nursery should look. Until you’ve experienced it, you never know the joys of holding your child for the first time after nine months of anticipation. Unfortunately, 21-year-old Jamie Stice did all but meet her little guy. (more…)
Greenville, Mississippi One of my greatest accomplishments was impressing a couple of black women with my culinary prowess in the deep South. Believe me, it’s a moment I’ll not forget for quite some time. These women took everything they did seriously, especially cooking. I’d spent months attempting to prove my worth as a supervisor with these two which was no easy task; I’d never folded a fitted sheet properly (strike one) and I’d never put a grit or a collard green in my mouth (strikes two – ten). So when it came to a potluck dinner, I kept my contribution a top secret thinking if it were a complete failure, I could ditch it and go to Piggly Wiggly or Winn Dixie and pick up a nice dessert. But I persevered and not only did I win respect in the kitchen, they shared a few tips in preparing the true Southern delicacies. I listened enthusiastically. I knew I’d never use a single one of them – I didn’t care for grits – I loathed collard and turnip greens – but the manner in which they spoke displayed sheer unadulterated passion for their time in the kitchen. As one would start to share, the other would nod in agreement and sing praises to the Lord. I learned how prideful the true Southern women were about their food and I learned a true meal is something that cannot be thrown together on a whim. It’s worked for, it’s lovingly prepared, and it takes a great deal of time. Which leads me to Terrie Robinson. As I write, I’m imagining the conversation I’d be having with Miss Mackannie and Miss Hannah regarding Robinson’s culinary contribution. I think it’s safe to say these ladies had cooked up just about everything under the sun but it’s equally safe to say I don’t think they’d ever cooked up one of their children. (more…)
Wes Craven’s landmark rape-revenge horror film that launched his career as well the “torture porn” genre of horror that has risen up over the past decade, “Last House” first assaulted its audience in 1972. Heralded in by one of the most infamous (and duplicated) ad campaigns ever that encouraged it’s audience that if the film got too intense for them to repeat the mantra “It’s only a movie…only a movie…..only a movie”, the film was one of the few movies for its time whose ads was more than just a shock tactic. Los Angeles, California Herbert Tracy White first met Edward and Melissa Garcia at an ATM in Hollywood, where they bummed cigarettes and money from him. He later told his wife he was helping out a “lovely young couple”. Herbert was a former alcoholic, who had turned his life around and become known for helping those down on their luck. According to his wife, he would often answer the phone and go out in the middle of the night to give rides to intoxicated acquaintances because he didn’t want anyone to drive drunk. The holidays were his “busy time of year”, due to all the parties, so when he got a call at 2 a.m. on November 28 asking for a ride, it was nothing out of the ordinary. Except that he never came home. (more…)
Rushville, Illinois If there is such a thing as justice after 17 years, it was served yesterday for the family of Susan Bonser. There was a “stay” on information being confirmed for 24 hours due to the children of the confessed killer being notified. Jeff Kennedy testified in front of the Grand Jury yesterday morning…as far as I’m concerned, it’s now been 24 hours.
I understand needing to speak to the growing list of Jeff’s victims but Susan’s family, they’ve waited long enough.
The official press release will be available today and when it becomes available, it will be posted on this site. Until then, Jeff Kennedy confirmed what a selfish prick he was yesterday as he took a plea deal and confessed to murdering Susan Bonser October 16, 1993. During the time Susan’s family wondered if the murderer would be caught, worried they’d never know the real date she died, worried that everyone had put her murder on the back burner, Jeff was able to raise a family and, until recently, was gainfully employed.
While we’re extremely pleased Susan’s family has obtained a portion of the answers they’ve needed, we also want to extend a heart-felt message of condolence. I can only imagine the emotions yesterday’s news brought to the surface.
16-Yr-Victim. Thank you for sharing Susan’s story with us. And a personal thank you for the endless conversations we’ve had over the past several months. You’ve shown a sister’s love can overcome obstacles.
Please feel free to comment on the resolution of this 17-year-old murder.
Mt. Sterling, Illinois Some who’ve read this site over the past year may think I’ve got some kind of hard-on for Central Illinois police departments. While I understand the conclusion one would draw, I’m going to make it perfectly clear I adore the men and women in brown who actually work for the State, but as it’s turning out, those who wear blue are lacking training, resources, and basic common sense which ultimately ends in more victims than need-be. Small town departments are full with eager-minded individuals who don’t seem to possess any skills other than being able to write a traffic citation and who suffer from an over-abundance of ego. Small town departments need to use their ready-made resources (town
gossip knowledge) to guide them in the right direction. Big cities’ departments don’t have that luxury. They actually have to find the pieces of the puzzle before they can attempt to put the shit together. Small town? The pieces are easily found. Let me give you an example: Mt. Sterling, Illinois, population around 2,000, several suspicious fires, rumors of one person being present prior to the fires starting. One large house fire takes hold around 3:30am – so hot it melts the neighbor’s siding. One person dead. It takes 6 months for a coroner’s inquest to rule the death a homicide. 6 months of crucial time that could have been spent torturing interrogating, tailing, and arresting the person(s) for murder. In a small town, how is it that everyone knows but the ones who are actually responsible for making an arrest? Why is it coming up on three years that Kathy Blentlinger was killed and there’s been nothing more than lip-service? (more…)
Worcester County, Pennsylvania I’ve some friends who’re wonderful with situational fabrication. Upon listening to them, I know they’re completely full of shit but the tale is so awesome I find myself pretending it occurred right along with them. Then I have friends (they’re in the minority) who lack this talent. When they spin their story, it’s painfully obvious they’re trying to get me to believe their crap. And because I’m not one to accept being force-fed bullshit, I enjoy the little cat and mouse game. I sit and listen until I’ve allowed them to arm me with enough inconsistencies that I start pelting them with questions to hear how they dig themselves out. It always ends up the same way: a change of subject. Are we really so apt to believe everything that comes out of someone’s mouth or have we become so detached that we just don’t really listen to ourselves or anyone else now? Because surely, if some people did listen to what spilled out of the gaping hole in their face, they’d take a vow of silence. This little “pull up” comes a bit late for Steven Molin who once again has proven it’s best to be thought an idiot than to open the mouth and remove all doubt. (more…)
Tenino, Washington Imagine being a policeman on patrol in a town of less than 1500. Not much goes on. Evenings are probably spent riding around busting people for stopping in the middle of the street to visit, running stop signs, and giving directions out of town for those who’ve stumbled in wishing to get out. Imagine being on patrol and getting flagged down and told something that was so unbelievable, you don’t know whether to laugh at the guy or get him committed into some mental institution. Especially if that guy were telling you something similar to, ‘I was on this trail and some kid stopped me and asked if I’d help him get rid of a dead body that was in his truck…” and as you’re listening, the guy looks up at a passing vehicle and exclaims something like: “THAT’S HIM”! Miami, FL A lot of men know the joys of being a father to little clones of themselves, especially when they’re two years old. The little rugrats are more than excited to learn what they can from their fathers. I mean, what kid wouldn’t want to learn how to hunt for dinosaurs, make fruit loop necklaces, draw pictures, catch a baseball, and learn how to box? Wait, boxing? (more…)
Port Richmond, Staten Island, New York C.J. Jones was once the “man of the house”, caring for his younger siblings in an attempt to assist his mother who worked as a security guard at Macy’s. Friends and family state C.J. was a troublemaker when he was younger but that he’d grown out of it. It now seems as though that wasn’t exactly the case – C.J. may have just suppressed whatever issues he had brewing deep inside. And the warning signs he exhibited weren’t exactly ignored but rather may not have been taken as seriously as they should have been. Now it’s too late. The actions of this 14-year-old “man of the house” have now resonated across the country and left a trail of blood and embers in his wake. (more…)
East St. Louis, Illinois Number 1, avoid East St. Louis like the plague. You’ll immediately know you’re there because, like Lewis Black describes North Korea, it’s so evil the color has completely been sucked out. And the monkeys from the Wizard of Oz live there. Think I’m kidding? Test me if you dare. It’s not a good place. Now even though downtown St. Louis proper is cool, there are still places there that creep me the fuck out.
St. Louis is built on the banks of the Muddy Mississippi with the downtown area right along those banks. It’s really a neat place to walk around – parts of the riverfront have been completely restored into quaint little restaurants and shops. But right next door to those restored beauties are abandoned warehouses that look as though they’ve housed some form of torture chambers. And
running walking past them, I could swear sometimes if my heart wasn’t pounding a deafening beat in my eardrums, screams could be heard. And guess what? It turns out I’m a psychic. Those freaky little mini-movies that have played out in 3-second segments in my mind came true in one East St. Louis warehouse. (more…)
Lake Cushman, Washington I know better than to “read more” on a child abuse story. I really do. As anyone who’s read me for a long time knows, I hate these stories but believe in exposing the monsters who prey upon them. I’m just not the person for the writing job. They affect me deeply and once I get sucked in, I become so consumed with what the hell drives adults to do these things that I end up writing them. And I would have looked over this story with hope someone else would pick it up had it not been for the picture of this darling little girl and the words, “slashed throat”. And after reading about a dozen police accounts, mother’s statement, and probable cause report, I was so disgusted and sucked in that I had to tell little 5-year-old Clare Louise Shelwell’s story. Spring Hill, Florida I have a younger brother by five years and I’m here to tell you there was no bigger pain in the ass than he. Whine, cry, tattle-tale and the little shit was always getting into my crap. And he never got into trouble for his antics because he was the baby. There were good things about having him around though. It allowed me to hone my “clever skills”. I constantly had to change-up my game as he became smarter and my will to not get caught became greater. I think those times were good for us both. Hopefully I helped shape who he hides deep within himself today, the non-neurotic cool guy. Or perhaps I helped contribute to the sniffling little brat he still is today – the one who sends me love letters saying, “you’re dead to me”. Either way, our sibling rivalry only went so far – hiding prized possessions on each other, etc. And I have to wonder if prized possessions were what the Eckards expected to find as their daughter said, “Mom, we have to dig up that hole. What’s in that hole?” (more…)
Only two things are pissing me off right now. One is I don’t know how to wrap my words around the pictures in my articles, like Lazlo does. The other is our country’s excuse for a death penalty. Our death penalty, the way it exists now, is like having a penis: Neither of them is worth a shit if you don’t use them. In 2009 there were 52 executions in this country. That’s about one a week. I’d be willing to bet my monthly allotment of food stamps that more people than that are sentenced to death each year, so obviously there is going to be a bottle-neck. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that something has gotta give. Somewhere. Some time. It is said that it is cheaper to keep a prisoner doing a life sentence than it is to put one to death. Our government’s life blood is money, pure and simple. They aren’t considering the whole picture…the bottle-neck. How much will it cost when they have to start building new prisons and hiring new guards and all the other good prison-type bullshit? It’s time to start using that penis, America! I have the answers and everyone will benefit from my brilliant solution and you will praise me! (more…)
Eureka, California Just how crazy is crazy? This seems to be an ongoing debate in the court system these days when defense attorneys are using the “insanity” plea as a way to get their client a reduced sentence, sentenced to a mental facility, or better yet, acquittal. I really believe anyone who’s committing the majority of these crimes are crazy and should face the same fate to which everyone else is subjected. There have been too many cases “won” under this umbrella and honestly, it just fucking makes me sick. One of my favorite examples is Andrea Yates, the female-type psycho bitch from hell who systematically drowned her 5 children in their bathtub and then laid their dead bodies out for display on a bed. Is that the act of a rational human being? HELL NO. Is she insane? Probably – again, that was not the act of a rational human being. However, I will never believe, in the course of time it took to chase, hunt down, and drown each child, something didn’t snap in that fucked up head of hers that made her say, ‘hey, this is insane”, and like quit at drowning child #3. But now instead of a jail cell, she spends her time sitting in the day room of some “home”, drugged up and happy as a clam away from other women in prison who had to leave their children at home. But then there’s criminals like Jarrod Wyatt, who also did not display the actions of a rational human being as cops charged his home and found him standing naked and bloody on the couch towering over the body of his good friend. Rushville, Illinois Sixteen years ago 34-year-old Susan Bonser was celebrating a new chapter in her life starting with an anticipated move into a new apartment in Rushville, Illinois. Little did she realize, a cold-blooded killer would postpone those plans forever.
October 16, 1993, Susan Bonser finished working 2nd shift in Beardstown, Illinois, met some friends at a local bar and then moved the party to her apartment in Rushville, some 15 miles away. Around 3am, all but one male friend left the home and he was the last to see Susan alive. (more…)

Louisville Kentucky Autoerotic asphyxia, asphyxiophilia, hypoxyphilia, erotic asphyxiation is the intentional restriction of oxygen to the brain for sexual arousal. In other words, you’re going to let someone damn near strangle you to death to reach a good orgasm during sex. I like to call this sex game, “you put your hands around my neck and your balls end up in your throat” but that’s just me. I like to play rough. If my partner doesn’t mind his scrotum in his neck, I guess I shouldn’t mind a little airway restriction – and I can guarantee you one fucking thing – I don’t know of one man who’s unhappy with the natural placement of their bag so I’m thinking my pristine throat and breathing pattern is just fine thankyouverymuch. And people, if you’re having problems reaching orgasm or you just like sexing dangerously, buy some fucking toys for crying out loud. Put nails through them or something but god damnit, strangling just leads to some bad shit. Sooner or later your luck will run out and there’s no crazy sex games in heaven, if that’s where you plan on going. (more…)
Ensley, Florida There’s no derision that can be shared with this story. I may poke fun at some of the crimes because some just don’t seem “real”. I mean, who seriously can imagine or picture someone cutting up another person? I know those things happen because I actually seek those stories out for some sick reason. I can separate myself from it all because, as I said, it’s just so fucked up it makes it easy to tackle. But this story: this entails a sick and evil mind that would savagely torture someone to a certain and painful death. Now, compound that evilness a couple more times and it makes it mind-boggling that 3 people could act this maliciously, in a premeditated barbaric manner, with a goal of turning another human being from a 19-year-old mother into a scared, bloody, and flaming heap of flesh screaming for her life.
